The PVF Roundtable will hold the next General Assembly Meeting at The HESS Club, 5430 Westheimer, Houston, TX 77056 on October 30, 2007.  As usual, the very popular social hour will begin at 4:30 PM with an open bar sponsored by Westbrook Manufacturing.  The ability to meet new members and guests and discuss current industry events and old friends has become one of the highlights of each meeting.  A full buffet dinner will be served at approximately 5:30 PM and will enable everyone to continue their networking activities.

Ron Merrick will call the meeting to order at approximately 6:45 PM and following a few minutes of relevant announcements and business Ron will introduce our speaker.

The keynote speaker will be Richard Spears of Spears and Associates, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Spears and Associates are a 42 year old oil and gas consulting firm and specialize in advising industry decision makers regarding current and future events that affect their future activities.

Richard Spears joined the firm in 1985 upon completion of graduate studies in Industrial Engineering at Oklahoma State University.  He also holds a B.S. Engineering degree from Oklahoma State.  He had a brief career with Halliburton Services and Leader Stimulation prior to joining the firm.  In 2006, Spears and Associates worked for approximately 250 clients worldwide and supported about 50 oilfield equipment and service investments around the world. The firm is on track to exceed the previous year numbers in 2007.

Richard leads the firm’s mergers and acquisitions support practice.  Richard is on the board of directors of Varel International, a $200 million (sales) privately held drill bit company; is a co-owner and advisor to the CEO of Atlas Resin Proppants, and is a charter shareholder and advisor to the CEO of Joshi Technologies International, a private E&P company with operations in India and Colombia.

Richards is also president of Tulsa 26 Scouts, Inc., a 501©3 non-profit corporation set up to provide outdoor adventures and activities to the youth of Eastern Oklahoma.

Richard was a Society of Petroleum Engineers Distinguished Lecturer 2005-2006 with the topic, “Investing in Oilfield Equipment and Service Technologies.”

We look forward to an enthusiastic response to Richard’s appearance along with another record turnout for the meeting.
