PVF Roundtable Program Climax Features Season’s
End Bonanza

Peaking four all-star Roundtable sessions this year, with record attendances, the October 30 season-ender promises to be a showstopper. With the cooperation of the HESS Club, dinner will be served at the tables, eliminating the need for the large buffet area. This will allow enough space to accommodate even more than the August 21 record breaking attendance.

After the 4 - 5:45 p.m. networking session, and the member-sponsored dinner and bar, PVF industry economic analyst, Morris R. Beschloss, will lead off the Blue-Ribbon program
with a 2013 PVF sector forecast in two parts, depending on the outcome of the historic presidential election one week hence.

This will be followed with the evening’s star attraction, former Shell Oil CEO and Chairman of Citizens for Affordable Energy, John Hofmeister. With the highly anticipated general elections just one week away, you won’t want to miss the evening’s industry camaraderie and the prognostications for 2013 by the two nationally-recognized PVF industry experts.

PVF Roundtable Reaches Peak of Participation Success

The pipe-valve-fitting Roundtable, the amalgam of all participants in the $50 billion pipe-valve-fitting industry, experienced an unprecedented 458 member attendance at the first of four meetings scheduled at Houston’s J.W. Marriott this year.

This fast-growing organization of manufacturers, distributors, product specifiers, and users, importers and exporters, and marketing groups have rallied to this organization’s membership because of it uncomparable opportunities for networking with other members of this specialized sector, unparalled by other groups within the $250 billion per annum plumbing-heating-cooling industry.

The quarter-annual meeting also provides outstanding experts comprising the red-hot energy development markets, with emphasis on hydraulic fracturing, fossil fuel, and power generation, pipeline expansion, the future of renewables, and energy growth’s overall impact to comment on the nation’s financial and employment problems.

As the director emeritus of this 26-year old unconventional group, I’m privileged to kick off each meeting with a forecast as to the state of industry, after the 2-hour network is followed by a sit-down dinner, during which industry comradeship is further enhanced.

What is most remarkable and unusual about the "Roundtable’s extensive membership is that it has no paid employees," and its direction solely emanates from a handful of volunteers that provide ongoing direction, structure, and communication. Even more remarkable is the fact that two-thirds of membership and participation comes from industry participants from outside the Houston, energy acknowledged as the world’s energy capital.

With energy’s red-hot growth and future importance, plus the concern of politicians’ Strangulating regulations and restrictions, the chance to interface with hundreds of those, including competitors, who face similar plights and hopes is uncomparable. It has become thoroughly insightful, according to scores of members with whom I have continually spoken.

When asked about the group’s recent expansion, I liken the PVF Roundtable as comparable to the political "Tea Party Movement," which sprang up as a unified surge to cope with the problems and opportunities not properly addressed by trade groups and organizations more interested in providing conventional programming that is not as inspirational.

Good works, such as an annual golf outing to provide scholarships to those focusing on industrial distribution and related educational programming, have received overwhelming support. With the enthusiasm generated by the "Roundtable’s" spectaculars, the future for the pipe-valve-fitting Roundtable not only looks bright, but may be setting an example for other specialized industry sectors to follow its example.

PVF Roundtable Secures Major New Meeting Facilities

In the wake of record attendance increases for all four of the PVF Roundtable’s quarter-annual sessions this past year, the fast-growing, Houston-based national pipe-valve-fittings organization encompassing all aspects of that estimated
annual $50 billion sector, including manufacturers, distributors, end-users, turnkey contractors, and specifiers, has successfully concluded arrangements with J.W. Marriott 5150 Westheimer in Houston to accommodate the Roundtable’s
further anticipated activity expansion during 2013.

With the kick-off meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 19, the organization has secured the PVF industry’s most sought-after speaker, Dr. Don McNeeley, who has combined unprecedented success as current CEO of multi-branch distribution giant Chicago Tube and Iron, with the industry’s only full professorship of engineering, as adjunct professor at Northwestern University. Most recently, McNeeley "engineered" the merger of this leading PVF distributor, Chicago Tube, with Cleveland’s Olympic Steel, Inc., forming an industry colossus of $1.5 billion in annual sales, with combined 30 locations.

Kicking off the February meeting’s exciting agenda will be the Roundtable’s renowned "networking" session, followed by a sumptuous dinner and an ongoing industry forecast by the PVF industry’s highly-regarded economic analyst, Morris
Beschloss.

A one-hour presentation by Dr. Don McNeeley, his first major PVF sector presentation since the Olympic Steel merger, should be one of the year’s stellar attractions
